In 2003 along side Marcus Harris, the birth of Tone Control was created, Amsterdam was the venue and an Ipswich Studio was becoming a reality. Of late, Distinction has been home too much of the pair's latest tunes, where the two would battle it out, Simon on decks and Marcus digitally tweaking the sounds with echo's and delays, all with the aid of live duets, saxophonists and percussionists. Taking the digital world back to the roots of soul and jazz.

While Marcus studied Music at Salford University the pair met up back in the mid nineties when Simon was on a work experience placement at Essential Selection record store. Now well into the 21st century, the past couple of years, the pair have been making music in the home based studio in Ipswich, it was here that the Tone Control label was amalgamated.
