Jeff Plunk, also known as "Typecast" , was born and raised in the great state of Texas and still resides in the Dallas underground. Jeff started the art of djing at an early age, where he grew up playing records with the likes of Demarcus Lewis, J.T. Donaldson, Jeff Mitchell, and more of Dallas' great talent. He was perfecting his skills when he knew just playing recordings wasn't cutting it! He began to collect studio gear every chance and with every dollar he could. The progression into producing came quite quickly to him. It seemed that the music he made not only reflected the music he played, but also the music he felt inside.
After playing and producing house music for quite some time, he began to experiment with drum'n'bass as well as downtempo. Even with the likely sounds of d'n'b being so hard, Jeff still found a way to to put the soul back in it. He later met up with fellow classmate and fellow househead Richard Shanks who was also just finding that drum ' n ' bass had a soul. As roommates Jeff and Rich proceeded to produce and play a new breed of d'n'b under the name, "The Atmospheric Society". These two have been promoting the likes of soulful drum ' n ' bass for the last seven years through their residencies at a local Dallas night spot.
These days Jeff is always trying to further his sound whether it be drum' n 'bass, house, downtempo, or whatever comes out of him. Jeff is always looking for a new project, a new challenge. It seems that through time Jeff hasen't been able to to put that music bag down...BABY!
